Position Title: Physical Education Coordinator

Position Description
The PE coordinator is responsible for the administrative aspects of the university physical education programs and sports related activities and events, university teams, coaches and clubs, sport unit budget preparation and purchasing, in full collaboration and coordination with the Head of Sports Unit. Also organize monitor and enforce students’ physical health tests in compliance with MOE requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
·Perform administrative and financial functions for the Sports Unit.
·Work in close contact and full coordination with the Head of the Sports Unit, advise and support the needs of the Sports Unit.
·Advise/support the Head of Sports Unit in designing, planning and eva luating physical education courses and classes, meeting the requirements specified by the Technion and the China’s Ministry of Education (MoE).
·Advise/support the Head of Sports Unit in recruiting and managing full-time and part-time professional coaches and instructors for GT physical education courses and various sports teams.
·Advise/support the Head of Sports Unit organizing, monitoring and enforcing national students’ fitness tests in compliance with the MoE requirements.
·Compile reports on physical education as requested by the Sports Unit or education authorities.
·Act as liaison between the MoE and GTIIT.
·Act as liaison between Guangdong Education Dept. and GTIIT.
·Provide administrative management for the GTIIT official sports teams and delegations.
·Support the development of new GT official teams.
·Support the Head of Sports Unit in encouraging and engaging students in sports and wellness events to improve their health, enhance their spots skills, and develop their leadership skills.
·Organize and support off-campus sports activities and similar types of events.
·Coordinate with STU PE Department on sports game and encourage GT students to participate.
·Advise/support the Head of Sports Unit in designing the budget of the Unit.
·Procure and perform all purchasing functions related to all sports activities of the Sports Unit (sports equipment, uniforms, GT sports teams and delegations needs, etc.).
·Coordinate with GT Students A ffairs department regarding sport clubs, sports and recreational activities.
·Coordinate with the GT Operations department regarding sports venues needs and activities.
·Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Job Specifications
·Required qualification: bachelor degree from a recognized university in a sport-administration/management related degree.
·Preferred: work experience in sports administration/mangment related work.
Required Job Competencies
·Chinese mother language.
·Able to communicate in spoken and written English.
·Responsible, patient and detail oriented.
·Good interpersonal skills to work in an international, cross-cultural work environment.
·Work flexibility, including evenings and weekends when necessary.
